Setting Up: Disable Play Protect. If you do not want to do this, I highly suggest installing the non-root version (or Vanced Manager with a changed channel link) instead. If you keep this enabled, Play Protect will periodically scan the device and uninstall (without notification) Youtube Vanced and Music (if you know a fix, please let me know).
This setting just forces youtube to always use VP9, which is the most recent codec they have. The selling point of VP9 is the smaller file size (compared to VP8) and that still preserves as much detail as VP8. The downside is that it's not the most compatible codec, though it's getting there as more hardware and software supports it. NewPipe won't get into the Play store, as it violates the Play store terms. Contributors and fans of NewPipe occasionally have illegal copies removed from the Play store for this reason (see Handle Copycats (License fraud) #539 ). So I was trying to use Youtube Vanced/YT music Modded apps like for some reason it stopped working and it keeps saying no internet connection even though I an internet connection with wifi and phone mobile and every else working with the internet ..
